Description

Camparone is set among the vines of the private and exclusive estate ‘Tenuta Villa d'Arceno’, a thousand hectares of vineyards, olive groves and forest at the southern end of the Chianti region.

Camparone is an entire private property sleeping eight, quietly secluded in a rural setting but in reach in minutes of local villages and towns.  The ‘Casale’ of Camparone comprises of two buildings, a former farmhouse and barn originally built in the fifteenth century.  These have been restored using traditional materials, chestnut beams, terracotta tiles, stone and brick but with all the benefits of modern living, air conditioning and WiFi throughout.

The farmhouse is now a luxuriously comfortable Villa, tastefully and imaginatively decorated throughout in a Franco-Italian style, with a beautifully kept private garden and exclusive use of a ten metre swimming pool.  As an entire property, privacy is guaranteed providing at the same time a magical setting to bring your ‘Tuscan Dreams Alive’.  The gardens of Camparone surround the Villa with lawns, olive groves and a more formal arrangement of herbs and roses around and near the pool with gazebos to provide shade. The beautiful garden has many outdoor ‘living’ areas and the exclusive poolside, from which to enjoy the breathtaking views or relax with a good book and a glass of wine.

Camparone's guests have the services of a complimentary Concierge, provided by a professional with many years of Five Star Hotel experience. Our guests can plan ahead for unique 'Tuscan' moments, for once in a lifetime experiences.  From onsite cookery classes with a Tuscan chef; expert guided wine tours of Tuscany's exclusive wineries; horse riding amidst Villa d'Arceno's vineyards and cypress avenues; or a day at the Palio, the famous horse race in Siena, originating in medieval times.

Camparone is reached along the estate’s ‘strade bianche’ (literally white roads which are unpaved) and along majestic cypress avenues typical of Tuscany.

The Villa consists of two wings set at right angles to the main body of the Villa which is aligned almost east/west with a south facing courtyard garden between the wings. From the covered carport the house is accessed through the ‘main’ door of the ‘east’ wing into a hallway, on the right a huge fully equipped kitchen including a traditional open fireplace at counter top level for roasting and grilling those famous Tuscan cuts such as the 'Chianina' steak.  In front of the kitchen a table for breakfast and outside the main door there is a stone table which can be used for breakfast, lunch or dinner 'al fresco' with a real candle lit, candelabra above it.  Opposite the kitchen the east wing houses the dining room which can accommodate up to twenty diners around two tables.  The walls are lined with shelving, housing a vast array of books thus the dining room is also the library.

Along the hallway a small door leads to a water closet with lavatory and wash basin.  A little further on the stairs to the floors above and beyond to the right is the doorway to the Master Bedroom suite with en-suite bathroom.  The bedroom is furnished with a walk in wardrobe, writing desk; king sized double bed and ‘chaise longue’ it also has 'French' doors leading directly to the garden.  The bathroom has bathtub with water jet system, lavatory, bidet, double basins and a ‘massage’ shower.  Opposite the Master Bedroom door is the west wing housing the living room with fireplace.  From the living room, the west facing 'French' doors lead onto a large patio serving as an outdoor ‘living room’ under the shade of a large porch with plenty of outdoor furniture from which to admire the gardens and view across the Chianti Vineyards.

Between the wings of the house is a ‘loggia’ a covered walkway with brick arches which is copied above on the first floor.  The first floor 'loggia' is accessed from the first floor hallway and one of the three bedrooms.  Each of the three bedroom suites on the first floor has beds for two people, double or twin, and an en-suite bathroom.  On the top floor there is a ‘Colombaia’ literally dovecote with windows in all directions, which is now a ‘T.V. and computer’ room with an adjoining water closet with lavatory and wash basin.

The 'Oriental' suite has double bed, writing desk with chair, blanket chest and chest of drawers, a 'walk through' wardrobe leading to the en-suite bathroom with wash basin, bathtub with shower and lavatory.  The windows face northward with views over the garden and swimming pool.

The 'Green' suite has a hallway with plenty of wardrobe space leading to the bathroom with the bedroom to the right.  The suite extends from the front to the rear of the villa with it own access to the first floor 'loggia' with views south over the vineyards and countryside of Chianti.  Again the views north are over the gardens and pool.  The bedroom has twin single beds, a chest of drawers, plenty of chairs and a lounge with sofa, writing desk and coffee table.  The en-suite bathroom has wash basin, bath with shower, a separate shower cubicle, bidet and lavatory.

The 'Red' suite has a large bedroom with twin single beds, a chest of drawers, campaign seats, a sofa, writing desk, a 'walk in' wardrobe and views over the gardens, pool and countryside.  The en-suite bathroom has double wash basins, bathtub with shower and lavatory.

Camparone also has the capacity to accommodate twelve persons should the need arise. The former barn or 'Fienile' set a short distance from the Villa has been converted into two living and sleeping areas one over the other in a modern decor. The upper level has a large terrace, a living area with kitchenette and bathroom, a twin bedroom with en suite bathroom and shower.  Below, the lower level has an independent entrance, a large garden, veranda, living room with kitchen and very large master bedroom with bathroom en-suite. A further four guests may be accommodated and these may be utilised as one unit or two depending on circumstance, please enquire.

Amazing Tuscan Experience!

The property and surrounding area are stunning. Our extended family had an amazing vacation we will never forget. The property is in the middle of beautiful vineyards, olive groves and surrounding historic towns. The property staff were really great and helpful and communication was great. The food we cooked and enjoyed at local restaurants was amazing. Running and cycling are fantastic. Every morning I set off in another direction for a fantastic and unbelievably scenic run run followed by lounging by the pool and snacking on fresh Parma reggiano - doesn't get any better

Amazing location and great accommodation - no surprises!

As an oversea traveller I was very pleased that there were no surprises with the rental it was exactly as advertised and very easy to make all arrangements in advance with very prompt responses from our hosts. The villa is beautiful and a wonderful place to relax and swim. Lots of spaces for an extended family of 13 with a great teen media room. Easy access to Siena and beyond. Great local area to explore through the week in San Gusme and local towns. The ladies were very friendly and made three wonderful meals for our family for a reasonable charge. The stay here was a big part of our family's trip of a lifetime thank you very much, I would highly recommend this rental to others.

A Magical Spot!

This was an absolutely magical villa. It is a beautiful villa in a stunning setting. The bedrooms were spacious and beautiful. There was lots of space throughout the villa for lounging, reading a book on a couch or playing cards as a family. The kitchen had everything you needed for making great meals. The back porch was a magnificent spot to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set across the valley. The pool was a perfect spot to rejuvenate after a day of tours in the Tuscan countryside. Our three families and children enjoyed every minute of our stay. The villa was in a perfect location. It is easy to get to Sienna, south to Montepulciano & Montalcino or north into Chianti. The small intimate town of Gusme is minutes away by car; or a lovely walk through country lanes; where there is a wonderful restaurant run by a Sicilian family now living in Tuscany. The owner was gracious and welcoming. The team that supports the villa are warm and welcoming. They are there every morning to help, but are not intrusive. They joined us on one night and prepared a wonderful and delicious home cooked meal. Quite simply: We will go back again!!

Charming Villa

This villa is very beautiful both inside and out. It is charming in that the décor is that of a home which is loved and carefully cared for. It includes family pictures, lovely furniture, rugs, etc. We greatly enjoyed the pool since the summer weather was very hot. The cooks/housekeepers are wonderful and prepare meals as you request. It was fun to travel to nearby towns and do some exploring. I would highly recommend having a car so exploring is possible.

Beautiful Home in a Beautiful Location

Our family had an incredible week. The ground are impeccably kept and the views amazing. The house is very well maintained and the staff incredibly friendly. We had Marcela and Lucia cook for us several times and every meal was delicious. We loved the pool area very much. We agree with another reviewer that the communication with the host was perfect, very easy, friendly and flexible. To top everything off, the surrounding areas are very nice and convenient. We enjoyed Casteluovo Berandenga and Siena and were easily able to get into Florence and Rome via the train (either from Siena or Arezzo). We had 10 people in our party ... 7 adults and 3 children ... and this was the perfect place for us. Thanks for everything!

Perfect!

Perfect in every aspect, from the easy communication with Didi, the Tuscany guide with detailed explanation of the surroundings from Valerie, the warm welcome from Bianca, the beautifully appointed and impeccable house, the magical Tuscan views, the gorgeous garden, the location to easily explore Tuscany, the pool, and off course the delicious food and help from Lucia and Marcela. We were a family of 14 ranging from 75 to 1 year old and cannot say enough how we enjoyed our vacation in Villa Camparone. Thank you all for everything!

A perfect stay!

Our stay was just amazing. I've celebrated there my birthday with my friends and we had an awesome time. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. There is a pizza oven, a grill for barbecue and in the kitchen you can find everything to prepare a great meal. We loved the pool area very much. The house is very well maintained and the garden is incredible beautiful. The communication with the host was perfect, very easy, friendly and flexible. We also loved the two ladies who came every day for the cleaning. They were so friendly and helpful. We also booked them for my birthday dinner and I can really recommend them. The food was very delicious. So in total, the house is the perfect place for a large group who wants to have a great time in a very very beautiful surrounding. Thanks for everything!

Perfect sunny days in Italy

We loved the house it was simply perfect. We came to celebrate my 50th bday with friends and their families and had the best ever time. The large pool and garden are so beautiful, the deck on the back of the house had views across the vineyards. The interior of the house was unique and stylish and very artistic. The massive kitchen and pizza oven got a lot of use too. The cottage where my friends stayed is really only nice for 2 people as the other 2 bedrooms are very basic with cheap bedding - but that really was the only criticism of the most perfect property - situated in a gorgeous party of Italy - 20 mins from Sienna. A car is needed to get around.

Wow!

When my wife suggested we rent this Villa (or any Villa) entirely online I thought it was a crap-shoot. "We get one week away as a family," I remember telling her, and it seemed to be too adventurous. Now that our stay has ended, all I can say is "wow." Despite a fair amount of traveling, we have never seen a more beautiful part of the world, nor stayed in a more suitable vacation property. The location for exploring Tuscany was ideal. And the staff who maintained the property were wonderful. Most importantly, our 4 children will forever treasure their time at Villa Camparone.
